THE EARLY YEARS
Born in Brooklyn and Raised in Charleston, West Virginia
Dewayne Hill was born in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in Charleston, West Virginia. At age 13, he developed an interest in fitness and bodybuilding.
Team sports never suited his personality, so he focused on individual competition. From 1995 to 2000, Dewayne competed in bodybuilding events and learned the discipline, confidence, and persistence that would later support his career on stage.
WHERE THE STORY BEGAN
One Card Trick Changed Dewayne’s Direction
At age 16, Dewayne watched a substitute teacher and coach perform a card trick. The moment sparked his interest in sleight of hand and the psychology behind magic.
He began practicing card techniques and performing for people around Charleston. Within six months, he was receiving invitations to perform at churches, fundraisers, and community events.
A local television producer later invited him to appear on a program. The appearance led to a front-page newspaper feature and more performance opportunities throughout the area.
Dewayne used income and scholarships earned through magic to help pay for college.
FROM THE CLASSROOM TO THE STAGE
Turning a Growing Talent Into a Full-Time Career
Dewayne studied K–12 education and worked for the state government as a graphic designer. He later worked part-time in the school system while continuing to build his entertainment business.
As bookings increased, Dewayne became known throughout West Virginia for his comedy magic performances. He eventually expanded into Florida and began serving larger audiences across the country.
His experience in education still shapes how he communicates. Dewayne creates messages that are clear, practical, and easy for audiences to remember.
MAJOR MILESTONES

In 2007 - Dewayne set a world record by performing the most card tricks in 60 minutes.

In 2021 - Dewayne invested and was executive producer and star of a feature horror film called “The Discernment”.

2020 to Present - Dewayne has been voted Top Corporate Entertainer, Top Comedian, Top Magician and Up & Coming Filmmaker and Producer.
A NEW STAGE IN HIS CAREER
From Comedy Magic to Motivational Speaking
In 2011 and 2012, Dewayne was invited to audition for America’s Got Talent. The producers were looking for a large-scale illusion act at the time, but the experience helped Dewayne consider new ways to bring his ideas and personality to wider audiences.
Today, Dewayne travels for more than 100 events each year. Along with comedy magic, he delivers motivational and business keynotes focused on leadership, goal setting, personal growth, and taking action.
FILM AND PRODUCTION
Bringing The Discernment to the Screen
During the 2020 shutdown, Dewayne began working with acting coaches and screenwriters to develop The Discernment, a feature horror film.
The project secured funding in 2021 and moved into production, with Dewayne serving as an executive producer and actor. The film later received several awards and was selected for 11 film festivals around the world.
